Castle Meggenhorn Meggen

The stately Meggenhorn Castle is situated on a promontory above the Lucerne lake basin. It is surrounded by a beautiful park and offers a wonderful view of the mountain panorama. The dreamlike setting attracts many wedding couples. The charming oak room offers space for a maximum of 20 guests. Weddings are held every last Thursday of the month in the afternoon. From April to October, wedding ceremonies are also offered every second Thursday afternoon. A surcharge of CHF 160.00 is to be expected.

In addition to the fee for the civil registry office, there is also a fee for renting the room in Meggenhorn Castle. The room rental is charged separately by the municipality of Meggen and the Lucerne Civil Registry Office cannot provide any information on this. In addition, it is not possible to have an aperitif in the castle after the wedding ceremony on the following dates: 26.11.2026 / 17.12.2026 / 28.01.2027 / 25.02.2027 / 25.11.2027 / 16.12.2027 / 27.01.2028 / 17.02.2028 / 23.03.2028.

ATTENTION (important note regarding the rejection of a booked wedding date):

The reservation of a date must be made at least 3 weeks before the desired wedding date. It is likely that wedding dates booked at shorter notice cannot be considered for time and organizational reasons and the bridal couple must expect that the reservation will be rejected (for example, because the marriage preparation has not yet been carried out or completed).
